  • 2 pounds Steak (sirloin or ribeye) Choose a tender cut with marbling.
  • 1 medium Onion Use yellow or sweet onions.
  • 4 cloves Garlic Fresh garlic cloves.
  • 2 tablespoons Cooking Oil Canola or avocado oil.
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce Low-sodium preferred.
  • 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar Adds sweetness.
  • 1 cup Beef Broth Low-sodium.
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Thyme Earthy herb.
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper Freshly cracked.
  • to taste Salt Adjust according to preference.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Gather all your ingredients for the crockpot steak bites.
  2. In a large bowl, sprinkle salt, pepper, and any additional spices over the beef chunks and toss gently.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, add oil, and sear the seasoned steak bites in batches for 2-3 minutes on each side.
  4. Transfer the seared steak bites to the crockpot.
Cooking
  1. Add the chopped onion, garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, beef broth, thyme, and additional salt and pepper to the crockpot.
  2. Stir to combine all ingredients.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or until the steak is tender.
