Prepare the Squash
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the sliced yellow squash and chopped onion until tender, about 5-7 minutes.
Mix Ingredients
- In a mixing bowl, combine the sautéed squash and onion with sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well.
Assemble the Casserole
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. In a separate bowl, mix the bread crumbs with melted butter and sprinkle over the top of the casserole.
Bake
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is bubbly.
Serve
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your yellow squash casserole!
