Pasta
  • 12 oz Pasta Use your favorite type, such as spaghetti or penne.
Pesto
  • 2 cups Fresh Basil Choose bright green leaves for the best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese Opt for freshly grated cheese.
  • 1/3 cup Pine Nuts Lightly toasted for richer flavor.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced finely for bold flavor.
  • 1/2 cup Olive Oil Use high-quality extra virgin olive oil.
  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice Freshly squeezed for brightness.
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper

Method
 

Prepare the Pasta
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions, usually around 8-12 minutes for al dente. Stir occasionally.
Create the Pesto
  1. In a food processor, combine fresh basil, garlic, pine nuts, and Parmesan cheese. Drizzle in olive oil while pulsing until smooth. Adjust texture and flavor to your preference.
Combine Pasta and Pesto
  1. Reserve a cup of pasta cooking water before draining. Return pasta to the pot, add pesto, and stir to coat. Use reserved water to adjust consistency if needed.
Add Finishing Touches
  1. Toss in cherry tomatoes or sautéed vegetables for added color and nutrition.
