Method
Prepare the Rice
- In a large bowl, combine the rinsed rice, water, and cinnamon stick. Let it soak for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Blend the Mixture
- After soaking, drain the rice and cinnamon stick. Place them in a blender with 2 cups of fresh water. Blend until smooth.
Strain the Mixture
- Strain the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a large pitcher, discarding the solids.
Combine Ingredients
- Add the milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt to the strained liquid. Stir well to combine.
Serve
- Serve over ice and enjoy your refreshing horchata!
