Method
Prepare Rice
- In a large bowl, combine the rinsed rice, water, and cinnamon stick. Let it soak for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Blend
- After soaking, drain the rice and cinnamon stick. In a blender, combine the soaked rice with 2 cups of fresh water and blend until smooth.
Strain
- Strain the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a pitcher, discarding the solids.
Mix
- Add the milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt to the strained liquid. Stir well until the sugar is dissolved.
Serve
- Serve chilled over ice if desired. Stir before serving.
