Preparation
  1. Gather all ingredients including 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup of softened unsalted butter, 3/4 cup of brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and spread the flour on a baking sheet. Toast in the oven for about 5 minutes to heat-treat it.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine softened butter, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until creamy and smooth.
  4. Gradually sift in the heat-treated flour and salt into the wet mixture. Stir gently until a soft dough forms.
