Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion and bell pepper to the skillet and sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Stir in the baked beans, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, mustard, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix well.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and spread evenly.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, until bubbly and slightly caramelized on top.
