Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 3-4 pieces Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil Extra virgin for best flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cumin Fresh ground recommended
  • 1 teaspoon Chili Powder Mild for less heat
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Sea salt preferred
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper Freshly cracked
  • 4 pieces Tostada Shells Store-bought or homemade
  • 1 cup Lettuce Chopped Romaine or iceberg
  • 1 cup Diced Tomatoes Fresh and ripe
  • 1/2 cup Sour Cream For topping
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheese Cheddar or Monterey Jack
  • 1/4 cup Sliced Jalapeños Pickled or fresh
  • 1/4 cup Cilantro Leaves Chopped
  • 2 pieces Lime Wedges For squeezing over tostadas

Method

Prep the Chicken
  1. Gather chicken breasts, a cutting board, and a sharp knife. Rinse the chicken under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels. Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces, about one inch each. Season generously with salt, pepper, and spices like cumin and paprika.
Cook the Chicken
  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a splash of olive oil. Once the oil shimmers, place the seasoned chicken pieces in the pan. Let them sizzle without stirring for about 5 minutes until golden-brown. Flip and cook for another 5-7 minutes until cooked through.
