Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Gather all ingredients: fresh blackberries, sugar, flour, baking powder, milk, butter, and salt.
Create the Blackberry Filling
  1. In a medium bowl, combine 4 cups of fresh blackberries with 1 cup of sugar and let sit for about 10 minutes.
Mix the Batter
  1. In another bowl, whisk together 1 cup of flour, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Gradually pour in 1 cup of milk and melt in ½ cup of butter. Stir until just combined.
Combine and Bake
  1. Pour half of your batter into a greased baking dish. Spoon in the blackberry mixture along with its syrup. Drizzle the remaining batter over the top.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown on top and bubbling at the edges.
