- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Wash and peel the potatoes, then slice them thinly (about 1/8 inch thick).
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in heavy cream along with garlic powder, salt, and pepper until warmed.
- In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom followed by half of the cheese. Repeat with remaining potatoes and cheese.
