Ingredients

  • 2 lbs sweet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 ½ cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together heavy cream, garlic, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  3. Layer half of the sweet potato slices in the prepared baking dish. Pour half of the cream mixture over the top and sprinkle with half of the cheese.
  4. Repeat the layering process with the remaining sweet potatoes, cream mixture, and cheese.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 30 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
