Description

Strawberry Sago is a refreshing dessert that combines the chewy texture of sago pearls with sweet, ripe strawberries, all enveloped in creamy coconut milk. Perfect for summer gatherings or a delightful treat at home, this dessert is easy to make and visually stunning. Each spoonful offers a burst of flavor that will leave everyone craving more.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sago pearls
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
  • 1 can (400ml) full-fat coconut milk
  • ½ cup cane sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 4 cups water
  • 12 pandan leaves (optional)

Instructions

  1. Soak sago pearls in water for about 30 minutes until softened.
  2. In a pot, boil 4 cups of water. Add soaked sago pearls and cook over low heat for about 15 minutes until translucent, stirring occasionally.
  3. Rinse cooked sago under cold water to remove excess starch and prevent clumping. Drain well.
  4. In another saucepan, combine coconut milk and sugar over low heat until sugar dissolves (do not boil).
  5. Mix the cooked sago with chopped strawberries in a large bowl. Pour the warm coconut sauce over them and gently fold to combine.
  6. Refrigerate for at least one hour before serving to let flavors meld.
