  • 4 cups stale French or challah bread, torn into pieces
  • 3 cups ripe peaches, chopped
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine torn bread and chopped peaches. Toss gently.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar, milk, cream, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Pour the custard mixture over the bread and peach mixture. Fold until all bread pieces are soaked. Let sit for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Transfer to a greased baking dish and bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown on top.
  6. Allow to cool slightly before serving. Drizzle with caramel sauce or serve with whipped cream if desired.
