- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3–4 tbsp ice water
- 2 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually add ice water until the dough holds together. Chill wrapped in plastic for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out dough into circles about 5 inches wide.
- Toss sliced apples with cinnamon and nutmeg. Place filling in the center of each circle, folding edges over slightly.
- Bake on a parchment-lined sheet for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
