  • 34 tbsp ice water
  • 2 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Gradually add ice water until the dough holds together. Chill wrapped in plastic for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out dough into circles about 5 inches wide.
  4. Toss sliced apples with cinnamon and nutmeg. Place filling in the center of each circle, folding edges over slightly.
  5. Bake on a parchment-lined sheet for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
