  • 8 slices of thick white or challah bread
  • 4 oz softened cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp butter (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine cream cheese with half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture until creamy.
  2. Flatten each slice of bread with a rolling pin. Spread about 1–2 tablespoons of the cream cheese mixture on each slice and roll tightly.
  3. Whisk together eggs, milk, remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture, and vanilla in another bowl.
  4. Dip each roll-up briefly into the egg mixture.
  5. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat and fry the roll-ups seam-side down until golden brown, about 3–4 minutes per side.
  6. Immediately coat each warm roll-up in leftover cinnamon sugar before serving.
