Ingredients

  • 1 cup glutinous rice
  • 1 cup full-fat coconut milk
  • 2 ripe mangoes, sliced
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Optional: Sesame seeds or mung beans for topping

Instructions

  1. Soak the glutinous rice in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  2. Drain the rice and steam it in a lined steamer for 30-40 minutes until tender.
  3. In a saucepan, heat coconut milk, sugar, and salt over medium heat until dissolved (do not boil).
  4. Once steamed, mix half of the coconut sauce into the warm rice and let it sit for 15 minutes.
  5. Serve by plating sticky rice alongside mango slices, drizzling with remaining coconut sauce, and adding toppings if desired.
