  • 1 tablespoon dried lavender buds
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 large eggs

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 Earl Grey tea bags

Instructions

  2. In a saucepan, warm 1 cup of milk. Steep the Earl Grey tea bags for about 15 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together cake flour, baking powder, and lavender buds.
  4. In a mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one by one, then mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. Remove tea bags from milk, then gradually mix in steeped milk into the butter mixture. Fold in dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Divide batter between prepared pans and smooth tops. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown; check doneness with a toothpick.
  7. Cool cakes in pans for ten minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
