Instructions
- In a large bowl, mash the drained black beans with a fork until mostly smooth but still slightly chunky.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until golden brown and fragrant.
- Combine sautéed onion and garlic with mashed beans in the bowl. Stir in breadcrumbs, cumin, chili powder, and egg (or flaxseed mixture). Mix well.
- Form the mixture into patties about ½ inch thick.
