Ingredients

  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water (room temperature)
  • 1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping
  • Food coloring (pastel shades)
  • Sprinkles or shredded coconut (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine yellow cake mix, eggs, oil, and water. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes until smooth.
  2. Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool for about 10 minutes.
  3. Use the end of a wooden spoon to poke holes in the cooled cake.
  4. In another bowl, whisk pudding mix with milk until smooth; let sit for 5 minutes before pouring over the poked cake.
  5. Spread whipped topping over the pudding layer; add food coloring if desired.
  6. Top with sprinkles or shredded coconut for decoration.
