- 2 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time along with vanilla extract until fully combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture, being careful not to overmix.
- Fold in chocolate chips and optional M&M's or sprinkles.
- Scoop rounded balls of dough onto prepared baking sheets about two inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden brown. Cool on wire racks.
