Description

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree (canned or homemade)
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar (for caramel)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the sugar until golden brown to create caramel. Quickly pour into a flan mold and let cool.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together pumpkin puree, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, eggs, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Once the caramel has hardened, gently pour the custard mixture on top.
  5. Place the mold inside a larger baking dish filled halfway with hot water and bake for 50-60 minutes until set but slightly jiggly in the center.
  6. Allow to cool at room temperature before refrigerating for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  7. To serve, run a knife along the edges and invert onto a plate.
